Once upon a time there was a family who lived in a haunted forest. There were 2 kids and 2 adults. The two kids were called Kyle and Adam. They were riding their motorbikes in the forest. They spend 2 hours on their bikes until they go to the harbour. They found a net and caught 5 mullets. They wanted to take them home to smoke them but when they were riding home through the haunted forest a scary wolf jumped out and wanted to eat the boys. The boys were so scared that they dropped the fish. Little did they know the wolf hated fish so he ran away. The boys picked up the fish and took it home for dinner.
My blog is a collection of my work at various stages, across different curriculum areas. Throughout my time at Paparore School I may share draft copies of my work for feedback and feedforward. Other times I will share my final published pieces.

Calf being born
On Wednesday I went to the farm. We saw a calf being born. The mum was on the ground and it was half way out. Then the mum stood up and the cow fell out onto the ground. It was gross watching it. Then the mum started to lick the calf for a little bit. She was cleaning the calf up because it was dirty and had some blood on it. They need to get it clean so the calf will not get attacked by dogs. When we left the calf was up and walking. We have 8 calves now they are all black and white. 1 of the calves has a heart on it's head.

Riding on our muddy farm
During lockdown, we have been riding on my papa's 4WD motorbike on our muddy farm. It has been raining a lot so we had to ride through deep puddles and we got really dirty. When we went back to my house, we had to have a wash outside with the hose to try get all the mud off. It was freezing.
Riding in muddy paddocks is one of my favourite things that I have done since lockdown.
What has been your favourite thing to do?

Little calf Maisie
On Thursday I went to my dad's farm in Awanui. I saw a calf that had just been born. It was in the warmest corner by the bamboo bushes. We had to go there twice a day to check on the calf and the mum. We called the calf Maisie. She is black and white with soft fluffy fur like a sheep's fur. She’s cute and runs very fast. Whenever I see her she is laying down because she gets tired quickly.
Question: How long does it take until calves can walk?

My bird feeder plan
My Brilliant bird feeder - Plan and creation steps.
WALT : We are learning to draw a plan and set out the steps to make a Bird feeder using recycled and natural materials.
My visual plan
The steps I used to make my Brilliant bird feeder.
First I had to look in google search for photos of bird feeders to get ideas.
Next I had to draw my bird feeder with labels.
Then I had to put my plan in the back of my book.
We got sticks from the field, string from our classroom and a recycled milk bottle.
I measured my string, the windows and doors with a ruler and a pen.
Then my teacher helped to cut out the windows and doors.
Lastly I painted my bird feeder in different colours.
It was fun because we got to do our own design and no one could copyed me.
